TK: Transitional Kindergarten
What is TK?
The Transitional Kindergarten Program, or TK for short, is an extra year between Pre-K and Kindergarten for students who turn five during the summer or fall before entering school the upcoming year. They must turn five by October 15.
TK is used as a year for maturing so students can further develop their social and emotional skills to be ready to actively engage in academics at a kindergarten level.
What do we teach in TK?
In TK our main focus is to make sure students have a strong foundation on the necessary skills needed to enter kindergarten including literacy, math and social and emotional development.
