Catholic Identity
As a proud member of the Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Charlotte, St. Ann Catholic School is deeply rooted in the Church’s mission to form young disciples. Since opening in 1955, St. Ann has dedicated itself to more than academic excellence — we strive to shape students spiritually, intellectually, socially, and creatively in the likeness of Christ. Each year, our principal and assistant principal prayerfully select a school year theme. A scripture passage, virtue, patron saint, and religious image are chosen to reflect this theme, which is then woven into our curriculum and daily activities throughout the year. Our religious education program grounds students in Catholic teachings, prayer, and moral formation, while service-learning, parish collaboration, and community worship ensure that faith is lived beyond the classroom. Through this integrated approach, St. Ann nurtures compassionate, faithful, and intellectually curious children who are equipped to contribute as active members of both the Church and the broader community.
Our Patroness
St. Ann, mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus, and her husband, St. Joachim, were known for their deep faith and devotion to God. Her statue has welcomed students in our hallway since the school opened in 1956, inspiring each child to grow in holiness and strive to live as a saint.
