Education in Virtue

Education in Virtue offers support as students learn, teach, and practice virtue. With time, students will begin to naturally incorporate the language of virtue within your daily life and grow as a disciple of Christ.  Here St. Ann School pre-kindergarten through 5th grade receive Education in Virtue through our Virtuous Leadership class weekly, focuses on one of the 27 virtues monthly in a three-year cycle.  Students also learn about the lives of the saints that exemplify each virtue.  The goal is to help students live out the virtues in their everyday lives through the Holy Spirit and with the help of our Blessed Mother.  Our ultimate goal is goal to be more like Jesus and become a saint.

A disciple of Christ is one whom others can recognize as being with Jesus (acts 4:13). Disciple of Christ, Education in Virtue is a way of life.  Materials used in this class were developed by the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, and based on St. Thomas Aquinas’ teachings on the virtues and gifts of the holy spirit. All these resources provide a framework that helps our preschoolers and transitional kindergartners to our fifth graders and every age in between, understand how to live a more virtuous life and to become true disciples of Jesus Christ.
